TRAINING FOR EVERYONE . . .

Business Intelligence(BI) provides its customers with a variety of training services. We can start at the beginning for those who know next to nothing about personal computers (PCs). If your exposure to the PC is limited, and you are not sure that you will understand the workings of these omni-present devices, then we can provide the support you are looking for. We start with a little history of what today is called the PC, and we move into how it has entered our daily lives almost daily.

Our training is not the normally provided classroom instruction. Rather it is a one-on-one (or two (2), hands on training. You don't set with five (5) to ten (10) others in a classroom. You have one instructor who only pays attention to you and your needs. Training starts when the computer is turned on. We provide you with an explanation as to what takes place when a computer boots. While this might not seem important to many, it is not until the computer does not operate as it should, and your are left looking at a screen that makes little on no sense, that this would be considered important. From there, we look at the tools needed to operate the PC. This includes the point device (mouse), the keyboard, and the screen. This is addressed prior to doing anything with the computer.

Then is it a trip through the most used operating system (OS), Windows XP/98, used today. While Microsoft has released a newer version of the Windows, Windows 98 is the most commonly used OS. Most all new computer however have Windows XP installed, so if you have just purchase a PC, we can show you around the installed OS. When you have an understanding of the needed basics, we move on to application programs.

There are thousands upon thousands of application programs. We start with Microsoft Word, which is the most used word processing program today. You'll learn your way around the program and create your first document. Then we look at Microsoft Excel, which is the most commonly used spreadsheet. We will also address other programs and if there are specific applications of interest, we can cover them too.

If you are interested in the Internet then we can help in that area also. From a basic understanding of what the Internet is, to an introduction to its basic component parts. Starting with email, we demonstrate how it is used and the many advantages of electronic messaging in todays personal and business world. Then what people hear the most about . . . surffing-the-net ! An introduction to the two (2) most commonly used browsers. Microsoft Internet Explorer and Netscape Naviagtor. Travel from your keyboard to the far reaches of the world. Then it is on the the exciting world of news groups. With thousands of news groups, there is something for most everyone!
